For This Contractor, Comfort is a Calling

Body

For some, installing a heat pump is technical work. For Stephen Hong, contractor and owner of Electrify Colorado HVAC, it’s a calling to do something bigger and deeper. Before starting his own heat pump business, Stephen spent nearly a decade in the construction world. He learned how homes and buildings breathe, how people use their spaces, and how comfort comes down to the air inside. All along, he knew he wanted his work to mean something more. He was drawn to renewable energy, motivated by cleaner power, and excited by the idea of helping people feel truly comfortable in the spaces they live and work in.

Today, Electrify Colorado HVAC is the result of Stephen’s calling. His business focuses solely on heat pumps, and to him, the reasons are obvious: The technology has evolved, the comfort is undeniable, rebates have made them more affordable, and in Colorado’s climate, they simply make sense. As Stephen puts it, “This is one of the hottest places you could grow a heat pump company.”

This is serious. You’ve gotta be dialed. It’s gotta be right.”

To Stephen, the work is meaningful because the responsibility is real. “Think about it. You’re working on people’s homes, and these people just paid over $800,000 for this house. And then we’re gonna tack on our piece. This is serious. You’ve gotta be dialed. It’s gotta be right.” That sense of responsibility drives how Stephen shows up for every customer – walking them through the methodology, what a quality install looks like, what the equipment does, how it works, and how rebates can make it all more affordable. “Everybody gets a walk-through. Everybody gets a digital folder.” No confusion. No surprises. Just clarity, transparency and trust.

“We are very lucky to be trusted with the heating and cooling of this house for the next two to three decades.”

Sure, Stephen is installing a heat pump. But what he’s bringing to homes and businesses is cleaner heat, cooler air and comfort that lasts. “These are expensive projects that you get to work on, not that you have to work on,” he says. “We are very lucky to be trusted with the heating and cooling of this house for the next two to three decades.”
