The Green Workforce consists of skilled professionals that help build a cleaner, more sustainable future. They include work in energy-efficient construction, renewable energy, landscaping, HVAC with heat pumps, and more. These careers blend traditional trade skills with climate-focused innovation.

Green trades are jobs in the skilled trades that directly support clean energy, energy efficiency, and environmental resilience. These careers offer good pay, long-term stability, and the opportunity to make a difference every day.

Power Ahead Colorado is working to train and equip the next generation of green workers across the region.

Green Workforce Hubs

The Green Workforce Hubs, launching in 2026, will connect jobseekers across the Denver metro region to high-quality careers in building decarbonization and clean energy trades. Through a regional network of workforce hubs, participants will receive career navigation, training support, employment connections, and wraparound services to succeed in in-demand fields such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy efficiency. The program is designed to expand equitable access to good-paying green jobs while advancing a more energy-efficient and sustainable future for Colorado.

Growth Access Programs (GAPs)

The Growth Access Programs (GAPs), launching in 2026, will train underserved jobseekers across the Denver metro region for high-demand careers in building decarbonization trades. The GAPs will include three targeted programs serving key underrepresented populations: individuals currently incarcerated and nearing the end of their sentence, non-native English speakers, and young adults. Participants will receive hands-on training in HVAC and cold-climate heat pump installation, along with career navigation, employer connections, and wraparound supports. The program is designed to expand equitable access to quality jobs while building a more inclusive and skilled workforce for Colorado’s clean energy future.

Electrification Workforce Network

The Electrification Workforce Network (EWN) is a Denver regional coalition connecting employers, education and training providers, labor unions, public agencies, and community partners to increase equitable access to quality jobs in beneficial electrification.
