Who we are

Power Ahead Colorado helps people make their buildings more comfortable, healthier, and easier to heat and cool, starting with modern electric technologies like heat pumps.

Upgrading your building’s heating and cooling system can feel confusing, expensive, and high stakes. Our job is to make those upgrades feel achievable.

Led by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) and funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, we connect Coloradans, businesses and property owners with clear information, trusted guidance, financial incentives and qualified contractors all in one place.

About the Program

We want homes and businesses to be more comfortable, efficient and ready for the future. Heat pumps provide reliable heating and cooling in any weather, reduce pollution and tap into Colorado’s growing clean electricity resources, helping us meet environmental goals while improving everyday life.

But the path from “I’m curious” to “it’s installed” is often complicated. Utilities have programs. The state has goals. Local governments have plans. Contractors are busy. Customers have questions.

Power Ahead Colorado is here to connect the dots.

How we help

Clear, Friendly Guidance
We offer neutral, straightforward (and free) advising to help you understand your options, costs and available support when installing a heat pump. No sales pressure, no jargon.

Cut Costs, Not Comfort
Launching in Spring 2026, our financial incentives are designed to be simple, clear and easy to use. You can combine them with incentives from your utility, making it even more affordable to get a high-quality heat pump installation that fits your home or building and your budget.

Support for the People Who Make It Happen
Through the Colorado Contractor Hub, we help contractors connect with customers, access training and grow their businesses. We also provide direct training and personalized career pathways so more Coloradans can step into well-paying jobs in clean energy, boosting local economies. More business growth, more Colorado-based jobs.

Built for Everyone
We empower all Coloradans to access building improvements, making high-quality upgrades affordable and achievable for households and communities with limited resources.

Less Complexity, More Progress
We coordinate with utilities, state agencies, local governments and community organizations to make sure everything, from incentives and workforce training to building policies, lines up. You don’t need to navigate that system. We’ve got you covered!
